Question from Graham Smith, St
Mabyn
Why in August 2024 did the
Council’s estate agents for privatising Newquay Airport,
CBRE, assume responsibility for the employment of the
airport’s technical facilities’ supervisor and how does
this not represent a conflict of interest.
A response was read to the
Committee as follows:
Cornwall Airport Ltd have appointed CBRE Global Work Solutions
(CBRE GWS) to undertake facilities management of the airport
including cleaning, compliance and tenant services. Any individuals
delivering that contract are employed directly by CBRE
GWS.
CBRE
GWS Ltd is a separate legal entity to CBRE Ltd and there is no
connection between the GWS team and anyone from the CBRE
team involved in Project Corduroy.
