It was proposed by Councillor Mustoe, seconded by Councillor Rogerson and
RESOLVED that
- The Committee thanked Sasha Blight for attending and presenting to the Committee on the work of the Youth Council over the past 4 years.
- The Committee celebrated the progress made by Cornwall Council working with the Youth Council across Cornwall over the past 4 years and would strongly encourage the new administration to continue the good and valuable work.
- The new administration be recommended to continue to support and champion Cornwall Youth Council and Children’s Rights activities, including offering time and input to the Youth Council manifesto priorities, the annual conversation and attendance and participation in meetings and events.
- The new administration be strongly recommended to take into consideration Children’s Rights (as set out in the United Nations convention on the rights of a child) and Youth Council Manifesto into consideration when developing its work programmes.
- The Committee also thanked the Children’s Rights Team for its support to the Youth Council throughout the past 4 years
