Purpose

Report setting out the outcome of the Care Quality Commission Adult Social Care inspection of Cornwall Council and the Council’s response to the inspection findings, including the approach to continuous improvement.

Decision

DECISION:

1. That the outcome of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) Adult Social Care inspection of Cornwall Council be welcomed.
   
   
2. That the findings of the inspection and the Council's response, including the development of the Adult Social Care Continuous Improvement Framework as the Directorate's overarching improvement and assurance framework, be noted
   
   
3. That the recommendations of the Health and Adult Social Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee of 15 July 2026 and the actions being taken in response, be noted.
   
   
4. That the delivery and ongoing oversight of continuous improvement remains delegated to the Strategic Director for Safe and Caring Communities (DASS) through established governance arrangements.
