Purpose

Purpose – Provide a response to the Principal Petitioner regarding the Loveletts Petition submitted to the Council in February which stated: We the undersigned petition the council to provide a parking solution to the residents of Loveletts, this can be done by removing the green. For far too many years parking has been an issue, there is not enough bays to even allow for 1 space per dwelling, resulting in people unable to park anywhere near their homes. This means we either park in other areas or as some have resort to parking on grass verges. This is not only a nuisance to everyone but also a major health and safety risk due to emergency services unable to access the road.

Decision

Decided not to proceed with the request of petitioners for the Council to turn the green space at the end of the Loveletts cul-de-sac into extra parking spaces so that residents could create driveways to their homes. A formal response and the rationale for the decision was sent to the Principal Petitioner on 11 June 2026.
