Purpose

As part of the Commissioning Agreement the
Council have agreed to identify a suitable site for storage
associated with the Stockton and Darlington 200-year celebrations.
The docking bay and yard has been identified as meeting the
requirements, and the Council has agreed to enter into a
licence.

To aid in the preparations for the Stockton and Darlington 200-year
Celebrations

Alternative options considered

Not to grant the licence. No suitable
alternative property or land within the town centre has been
identified. Other sites, on the edge of Darlington, while suitable
for the uses proposed by the occupier, are deemed to be too far
from the Town Centre and other areas associated with the
celebrations.
