Purpose
The Crisis and Resilience Fund has been
established to assist local authorities in England from 1 April
2026 to 31 March 2029. The fund's dual purpose is to provide a
safety net for households experiencing sudden financial shocks and
to invest in services that strengthen individual and community
resilience. Following the cessation of the Household Support Fund,
the council intends to maintain holiday voucher support for
families receiving Free School Meals via a phased reduction
throughout the next financial year. The cabinet meeting to approve
the overall programme is scheduled for April 2026. To ensure these
vouchers are ready for the Easter holidays starting 3 April, a
£141,000 delegated decision is being sought in advance of the
cabinet meeting.
Decision
To release £141,000 to provide vouchers
for families with children in receipt of free school meals for the
Easter holiday period commencing 3rd April 2026.
To allow for a significant element of the Crisis and Resilience
Fund to be provided in advance of Cabinet approval.
