Purpose

To allow use of the current unused East
Cemetery Chapel to a facility used by the community and operated by
the community. The Chapel will be for use as a Cemetery Chapel, a
place open for quiet reflection with occasional services and this
will be reflected in the licence conditions.

Decision

To issue a lease/licence in the short term to
Firthmoor and District Community Association, with a view to amend
the lease/licence to Friends of Geneva Road Cemetery when the group
is formally constituted and registered. The purpose of the
lease/licence will be to manage the facility as described above
with licence conditions to reflect the sensitive setting of the
cemetery and the activity that will be permitted in the
Chapel.
To utilise a currently unused facility to the benefit of the
community.
