About

The Overview & Scrutiny Committee holds the Cabinet to account for its executive functions. It scrutinises proposed and implemented Cabinet decisions, particularly those involving significant expenditure, impacting multiple wards, or deviating from the Council's budget or policy framework. The committee also examines matters of local concern affecting the borough and its inhabitants, even if not directly a council responsibility. It can make recommendations for changes to policies or practices and has a specific role in scrutinising health services within the Borough of Dartford. The committee also considers 'Councillor Calls for Action' on persistent community concerns that haven't been resolved through other channels.
