About

The Licensing & Appeals Committee is responsible for overseeing various licensing functions within Derbyshire Dales. This includes decisions on animal welfare, taxi and private hire services, and regulated activities under the Licensing Act 2003 and Gambling Act 2005. The committee also handles quasi-judicial matters related to the council's role as an employer and licensing authority, as well as miscellaneous licenses, tree preservation orders, and street cafe permits. It also hears appeals against specific council policy decisions.
