Purpose

To allow the transfer of �50k match funding for the digital inclusion project from DDICB to DCC and then DCC to Rural Action Derbyshire
 

Decision

That the Cabinet Member for Health and Communities accept funds of £0.050m, from NHS Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board (DDICB), to support digital inclusion work in Derbyshire and allocate this £0.050m funding to strengthen an existing grant to Rural Action Derbyshire. 

Reasons for the decision

1.     DDICB has no means to transfer the funds and the Virtual Ward and NHS App proposals will be delayed until a procurement process can be undertaken by DDICB.

1.     Supporting this work financially will make a positive impact across several strategic priorities and ongoing projects, ensuring that digital solutions, implemented at System level, have the best chance to realise intended benefits to service users and system partners.

1.     Increasing opportunities for digital inclusion is essential to reducing health inequalities and helps tackle financial and social inclusion.

1.     DCC already have grant and management meetings in place, with Rural Action Derbyshire, for the purpose of monitoring the funding agreements in relation to the DDSN and Small Grants Scheme, therefore working in collaboration would be efficient and strengthen partnerships.

Alternative options considered

1.     Option 1 Do Nothing. If the funding cannot be allocated to Rural Action Derbyshire via DCC there will be no means to transfer the funds and the Virtual Ward and NHS App proposals will be delayed until a procurement process can be undertaken by DDICB.

1.     Option 2 (Preferred). Accept the transfer of funds from the DDICB and collaborate to grant manage the funding
