Purpose

To provide Cabinet with an update on the Council’s participation of the Derby and Derbyshire Strategic Leadership Board.

Decision

RESOLVED to:

 

1)   
Withdraw the
commitment to act as the host authority for the Joint Committee - Derby and
Derbyshire Strategic Leadership Board;

 

2)   
Withdraw the
approval of the associated costs of taking forward the programme of work, the
maximum cost of which currently stands at £156,324 per annum;

 

3)   
Note the
Council’s intention at this time is to continue membership of the D2 Strategic
Leadership Board and the delegated functions as set out in the Functions and
Responsibilities document in Appendix 1 to the report; Ongoing membership will
be kept under review to enable the assessment of the impact of the new Board
leadership arrangements and any subsequent changes in the future direction of
the Board; and

 

4)   
Note that the
Leader, Councillor Barry Lewis, will continue as the Council’s representative
on the D2 Strategic Leadership Board and the Deputy Leader, Councillor Simon
Spencer, as substitute.
