Full council record
Purpose
This paper sets out how the council intends to distribute the Market Sustainability and Improvement Workforce Fund in line with Department of Health and Social Care Grant Conditions.
Decision
RESOLVED to:
Approve the use of the Market Sustainability and Improvement Fund against the three target areas as described.
Reasons for the decision
The funds have to be allocated in line with prescribed Grant conditions or the funds have to be returned to Department of Health and Social Care. The proposal mad fully complies with the Grant conditions.
Alternative options considered
Whilst the Council has the ability to utilise the Grant funding as it considers best within the three target areas of improvement, the amount needed to support adult social care providers has already been fixed by the fee rates set for 2023/2024 and the proposed use of this grant will assist with meeting the additional fee demands of Providers offering better outcomes to Working Age adults. The proposals fulfil the two remaining target areas identified by the grant condition as set out above.
There are no alternatives available to the Council to spend the funds other than allowed by the Grant Conditions.
