Purpose

To consider and approve the appropriate accommodation option for service delivery in Amber Valley and Erewash.

Decision

RESOLVED to:

1)      Note the proposal for the rationalisation and relocation of Mercian Close Offices, Ilkeston and the Parkwood Centre, Alfreton to the Grammar, Heanor;

2)      Approve the 5-year term of a new lease at The Grammar as set out in the Heads of Terms;

3)      Approve the 5-year term of a new lease at Ilkeston Town Hall as set out in the Heads of Terms;

4)      Delegate authority to the Director of Property and the Director of Legal Services to agree the final details of the lease arrangements and sign the leases on behalf of the Council;

5)      Delegate to the Executive Director for Corporate Services and Transformation in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Business Services authority to undertake the procurement processes and award of contracts for capital works/purchasers required for the delivery of the project;

6)      Approve the change of use of the capital funding previously approved for office rationalisation in Alfreton, Belper and Ripley (Prudential Code report 27/01/2015) for the Grammar project;

7)      Note that the lease at Mercian Close offices will expire on 29th September 2025; and

8)      Note the proposed actions for the Parkwood Centre site.
