Purpose

To seek the Cabinet Member’s
approval to accept a grant from the Derbyshire Heartwood Community
Forest 2024-25 tree planting programme for tree planting on Council
land.

Decision

That the Cabinet
Member:
 
Approves, to
accept a grant from the Derbyshire Heartwood Community Forest
2024-25 tree planting programme for tree planting on Council land,
in consultation with the Cabinet Member – Business
Services.

Reasons for the decision

 Acceptance of the grant funding in respect
of the planting schemes on council land will meet the requirements
of the grant funding agreement between the Council and
CWAC.

Alternative options considered

Option 1: Do not accept the grant for planting on Council
land - This option would result in the Council having to refund
capital funding for all schemes on Council land for failing to
comply with the terms and conditions of the signed grant funding
agreement with CWAC. This option is not
recommended. 

 

Option 2: Accept the grant funding as outlined in the report.
This option is recommended.
