Purpose

Approval sought to delegate funding from EMCCA grant to allow agile spending to deliver project.
 

Decision

The Cabinet Member for Health and Communities approved strengthening of Youth Guarantee Trailblazer delivery (from approval until March 2026) by grant funding Derbyshire Districts Citizens Advice (DDCA) to:

a) administer and distribute person centred delivery payments (£0.019m)

b) provide face to face financial wellbeing support to participants (£0.005m) 

Reasons for the decision

Timely spending of the allocated budget is essential to support project outcomes and enable young people in Derbyshire to reach their potential. 

Alternative options considered

Do nothing and administrate payments within Derbyshire County Council. This was not a recommended as this would place a significant administrative burden upon Derbyshire County Council. Citing the budget within the Voluntary and Community sector also enables dynamic and efficient allocation of funds to meet the needs of the project and people who are accessing support via it.
