That the Cabinet Member for Adult Care approve the content and publication of the JUCD All Age Carers Strategy 2026-2030.

Reasons for the decision

The JUCD All Age Carers Strategy 2026 – 2030 provides system clarity on the vision, priorities and commitment to unpaid carers.

Alternative options considered

Do Nothing. Not taking forward a carers strategy would limit the Council’s ability to take a coordinated and planned approach to supporting unpaid carers. Without agreed priorities, activity would remain fragmented, reducing alignment with NHS and VCFSE partners and weakening our ability to respond systematically to what carers have told us matters most. This places additional pressure on carers and those they support and restricts our ability to target prevention and evidence progress.
