Purpose

To seek the Cabinet Member’s approval to modify the contract.
 

Decision

The Cabinet Member approved, in accordance with the Council’s Standing Orders and Financial Schedule of Delegation to modify the current contract.

Reasons for the decision

Approval to modify the current contract would ensure that the contractual obligations continued to be fulfilled. 

Alternative options considered

Option 1: Do Nothing. This option is not recommended.

Option 2: Proceed with an open tender to procure a new service contract. Timescales do not allow for this. This option is not recommended.

Option 3: Proceed with a procurement exercise to accommodate the additional service in parallel to the existing contract - This would cause significant duplication of processes and could lead to operational confusion which would adversely impact the smooth delivery of this critical service. This option is not recommended.

Option 4: Under Council’s Standing Orders, seek approval to modify the current contract.
