Purpose

To seek the Cabinet Member’s approval to modify the current contract.
 

Decision

The Cabinet Member approved, in accordance with the Council’s Standing Orders and Financial Schedule of Delegation, the modification of the current contract.

Reasons for the decision

Approval to modify the current contract would ensure that the scour pipe is fully installed to the specification required to obtain sign off.

Alternative options considered

Option 1: Do Nothing - This option is not recommended.

Option 2: Proceed with an open tender to procure another contractor to undertake some of the additional work identified. This option is not recommended.

Option 3: Proceed with a procurement exercise to accommodate the additional work in parallel to the existing contract. This option is not recommended.

Option 4: Under the Council’s Standing Orders, seek approval to modify the current contract. This is the recommended option.
