The property details were provided to Adults, Strategic Housing and SLHD but there was no interest to use the property internally.
The title contains a restriction under the National Assistance Act 1948 which might require removing prior to completion.
The property will provide capital funding that will contribute towards delivery of the Councils Capital Programme. A receipt in the region of £*** to £*** is anticipated.

Alternative options considered

ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS CONSIDERED AND REJECTED
Option 1 – Retain property
As the property is not needed for service delivery or for housing stock there is no need to retain. It is starting to look untidy and this is not good for the local community. As it is in a privately owned residential area the Council will start to receive complaints re: the condition of the property should it not be sold shortly.
Option 2 – Sale by informal tender
Disposal by informal tender would provide little certainty as to the timescale within which the Council would receive a capital receipt for the building in which time the condition of the building will deteriorate and should anyone gain access and vandalise the property, the value will decrease. Again, as it is in a privately owned residential area the Council will start to receive complaints re: the condition of the property should it not be sold shortly.
