Decision

To extend the current contract held by Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber (RDaSH) Foundation Trust for the provision of services relating to Public Health services for 5-19 year olds by 24 months (2 X 12 month periods) from the current contract expiry date of 31st July
2026.

Alternative options considered

Extended contract for 1 X 12month period – rejected
The service is performing well and continues to meet the contract key performance indicators. Utilising both remaining extension periods at this stage will provide stability for service users, support provider workforce retention, and reduce the resource associated with completing annual extension processes. Utilising the option to extend by 24 months (2 X 12-month periods)also enables longer-term strategic planning and avoids unnecessary disruption to the service.

Do not extend contact – rejected
The service delivers essential service provision for children and young people in Doncaster. To go out to tender for a new service at this point would not be feasible, as options for any changes made to the service delivery model should be properly considered, consulted, and agreed to reflect challenges faced both locally and nationally by young people’s health and wellbeing services. It is the commissioner’s intention to explore new service delivery models during the additional 24 month (2 X 12 month) contract extension period.
