Purpose

The current provider’s contract is due to expire. The current supplier has not been able to consistently and continually provide the service agreed in the original contract. They have now changed the Occupational Health Physician five times – although this may not be the providers fault it has had a detrimental effect on the Occupational Health department:
Several clinics have been cancelled. This has impacted the service we provide to CDC; having
to rearrange appointments. The provider is still unable to provide the required three face to face appointments required by the service to enable essential appointments for asbestos medicals, hand arm vibration T4 medicals and HGV driver medicals
The OH department has had to retrain new Occupational Health Physicians – again taking time away from clinic times.
The cost of the service is sought from the OH/HR budget – the OH department cross charge for this service to CDC and other contractors.

It is essential for the OH department to have regular contact and support from an Occupational Health Physician
To retender for the Occupational Health service
