Decision
To request drawdown of funds from the corporate feasibility budget for the investigation of works to facilitate the expansion works to the Doncaster Special School estate and SEND resource bases on mainstream school sites. Assessments are required for the following projects. The expected cost, provided by the Education Build Team are; up to £25k for projects 1 to 3. Project 4 is £1050.00
1. Education Land Adjacent to the Bader Special School site, Edenthorpe for the mplementation of a modular build with the potential for future permanent expansion
2. Site of the former Rosemead Centre, May Avenue Balby for the implementation of a modular build.
3. Holmescarr Centre Rossington Refurbishment and Site Alterations
4. Adwick Lower School, implementation of a modular build
The works will be commissioned internally by our Commercial Team.
Alternative options considered
The delivery of these projects is required to fulfil our duty to provide sufficient SEND provision within the City.
The only alternative is to not undertake these assessments and proceed at risk, this is not recommended.
