About

The People and Health Scrutiny Committee is responsible for scrutinising the decisions and actions of the Council's Cabinet, particularly those related to people and health services. It reviews executive functions, considers petitions requiring senior officers to be accountable, and examines executive decisions through a 'Call-In' process. The committee also focuses on the Council's strategic approach to Dorset-wide objectives, budget and transformation plans, and the effectiveness of partnerships. It has statutory duties related to crime and disorder, health scrutiny, and education matters.
