Purpose

To
defer the implementation of overnight charges until after there has been a
review of charges and the wider parking service.

Content

A planned review of parking across the council area is due
to take place in 2025. This will cover current parking demand and what will be
required into the future to ensure that our parking offer is suitable for
residence, business and visitors. As part of this review the charging strategy
will be examined and other options reviewed. This will include the potential
for an overnight parking charge. This review will be taken to Overview,
Scrutiny and Cabinet in due course. Delaying the implementation of overnight
charging until this review is completed will ensure that we have taken all
stakeholders opinion into consideration and have investigated any potential
negative effects of overnight charging.
