Purpose

To
seek approval from Cabinet to extend Dorset Council’s contract with the current
provider for 6 months until 31 March 2026. This is necessary because the total contract
value will now exceed £500k.

Content

That the extension of the
existing contract for the All-Age Pan-Dorset Appropriate Adult Service with the
Appropriate Adult Service (TAAS) from 1 October 2025 to 31 March 2026, be
approved.

 

Reason for the decision

 

In
early 2025 Dorset Council scheduled a new procurement of this service so that a new contract would be in place for 1 July
2025. However, this was subject to all partners signing a Participation
Agreement. Unforeseen delays finalising this agreement with partners has led to
extending the re-procurement timeline and requiring an extension to the
contract with the current provider. This agreement has now been signed by all
partners.
