An
update to Cabinet on Children’s Services progress and impact against the post
inspection action plan from the May 2025 inspection of Children's Services.
This includes an updated “Self-Evaluation” from Dorset to Ofsted.

That the Post Inspection Action Plan be received and noted.

 

Reason for the decision

 

Dorset Council had a statutory duty to deliver
effective safeguarding services and improve outcomes for children in care and
care experienced young people. The impact of an effective Children’s Services
contributed to the ‘communities for all’ priority in the Council Plan.

The report provided assurance that Children’s Services
were continuing to learn from inspections and improve services to the
communities of Dorset.
