Decision: To set and agree the household waste
container charges for 2026-27

 

It was decided to uplift all container charges by 5%, rounded up to the
nearest 50p, to ensure that all additional costs incurred by Dorset Council in
providing these services are recovered.

 

This decision is delegated to the Executive Director for Place in
conjunction with the relevant Cabinet Member, under Dorset Council’s Scheme of
Delegation.

 

Reasons for the decision

To allow Dorset Council to recover all costs associated with purchasing
and delivering some of the household waste containers.

 

Alternative options considered

Two other price increase options were considered and rejected as these
would not fully cover the costs incurred by Dorset Council in providing these
services. These were:
