Reason(s) for Decisions:

 

To allow Dorset Council to recover all costs
associated with purchasing and delivering some of the household waste
containers.

 

Alternative options
considered and rejected:

 

Two other price increase options were considered and
rejected as these would not fully cover the costs incurred by Dorset Council in
providing these services. These were:

 

1.    Apply a 0% price increase.

2.    Apply a 5% price increase.

Decision:

 

It was decided to apply a variable price increase. All charges to be
uplifted by a minimum of 5% (Dorset Council’s inflation forecast for 2024-25), but
higher if needed to ensure that all additional costs incurred by Dorset Council
in providing these services are recovered.

 

This decision is delegated to the Executive Director for Place in
conjunction with the relevant Cabinet Member, under Dorset Council’s Scheme of
Delegation.
