Purpose

To agree the draft proposals for Local Government
Reorganisation for submission to the
Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local
Government.

Decision

Proposed by the Leader of the Council, duly seconded by the
Deputy Leader of the Council and RESOLVED that the submission of
the interim for local government reorganisation on behalf of East
Hampshire District Council (appendix 1) be approved.
 
Reasons for the decision
To approve East Hampshire District
Council’s response to the requirement to submit an interim
proposal for local government reorganisation in compliance with the
direction from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local
Government.
 
Alternative Options Considered
The option to do nothing would result in a
proposal moving forward without the engagement, agreement or
endorsement of East Hampshire District.
