Urgent Decision taken pursuant to Part Three,
Section E Overview & Scrutiny Standing Orders, No 83.
‘Call-In & Urgency’.

Decision

To delegate all functions of the Chief
Executive (with the exception of specific items that are to be
exercised by the Head of Paid Service as set out in the
constitution (Section G 3, Delegations to the Chief Executive and
Statutory Officers, point 1 “functions delegated to the Head
of Paid Service”) to David Brown, Executive Director of
Corporate Governance.
 
To delegate all functions of the Head of Paid
Service as set out in the constitution (Section G 3, Delegations to
the Chief Executive and Statutory Officers, point 1
“functions delegated to the Head of Paid Service”) to
Annie Righton, Executive Director of Community.
 
In accordance with the Local Government and
Housing Act 1989, Head of Paid Service, Section 4, paragraph 1A, it
shall be the duty of every relevant authority.
 

(a) 
to designate one of their officers as the head of their paid
service; and

(b) 
to provide that officer with such staff, accommodation and other
resources as are, in his opinion, sufficient to allow his duties
under this section to be performed.
