Purpose

Cabinet to consider the report and action plan in relation
to the Peer Review.

Decision

RESOLVED that
 
a)             
the Corporate Peer Challenge report be received
and Full Council be recommended to note the positive commentary,
and the recommendations in the report, and to consider the proposed
action plan in the report.
b)             
the action plan be agreed and the work already
completed be noted.
c)             
progress of the action plan be reviewed in 6
months.
d)             
the action plan review with the LGA to discuss
progress made on the action plan is scheduled for November
2025.
 
Reasons for the decision
 
To note the report produced by
the Local Government Association (LGA) facilitated Corporate Peer
Challenge and agree the action plan.
 
Alternative Options Considered
 
The Council welcomed the
opportunity to host a Corporate Peer Challenge visit and would want
to demonstrate positive action to respond to the
recommendations.
 
The do nothing option would
prevent the Council form learning from our colleagues and the wider
sector.
 
The
call-in deadline is Tuesday 15 April 2025 at 4.00 pm.
