Purpose

The Cabinet to consider the minor amendments, in relation
to the Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)

Decision

It was RESOLVED that Cabinet:
 
Approved the EHDC Statement of Community
Involvement 2025 (Appendix 1 to this report) for adoption with
immediate effect.
 
Reasons for the Decision
 
To request to Cabinet the adoption of an updated version of
the Council’s Statement of Community Involvement (SCI), to be
referred to as “SCI 2025”.
 
Alternative Options Considered
 
Option 1
Do nothing – maintain the Statement of Community
Involvement
2024, which was not recommended by officers on the basis
that the Council has a statutory obligation, in accordance with the
Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, to keep an up-to-date
SCI and adhere to the consultation methods.
 
Option 2
Preferred option – to adopt the Statement of
Community Involvement 2025 was the only option that enables the
Council to meet its statutory obligations of the Planning and
Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 to support the communities engagement
with planning matters via varying methods of
consultation.
