Decision

It was RESOLVED that Cabinet:

Authorised the acceptance of the provisional grant funding of up to £1,280,820 from MHCLG; and

Authorised the relevant Executive Director to take all necessary steps to enter into the MoU with MHCLG, subject to the necessary legal and financial advice.

Reasons for the Decision

To seek Cabinet approval to enter into the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) for the administration and delivery of the Local Authority Housing Fund – fourth funding round (‘LAHF R4’).Approval will enable the Council to accept a grant award of up to £1,280,820 from MHCLG.

Alternative Options Considered

a.     No alternative options were considered as the grant provided through the LAHF R4 programme can only be used for this purpose. 

b.     Approval of the MoU does not commit the Council to a specific delivery model. Detailed options, supported by feasibility and financial appraisal will be presented to Cabinet for decision at a later stage.
