About
The Portfolio Holder for Housing at Elmbridge Council is responsible for a wide range of housing matters. This includes developing housing strategy and policy, managing the allocation of housing enabling funds, and overseeing housing benefits and Universal Credit.
The role also covers affordable housing initiatives, liaison with registered social landlords, and addressing homelessness. Decisions are made regarding grants for private sector housing and disability adaptations, as well as the Care and Repair and Handyman services.
