Purpose

To provide Cabinet with an update on the
council's MTFP position. This report will include savings proposals
for consideration as well as the proposed fees and charges for
2026/27 for the council's wide range of services.

DECISION: The Cabinet agreed
 

In principle the proposed tranche of
new savings and income targets of £15.4m in 2026/27 as shown
in Table 1 and delegated authority to the relevant directors to
make any decisions required in order to achieve the proposed
savings or income targets and authority to substitute the proposals
with other suitable alternative proposals provided that any such
substitutions will be subject to consultation with the relevant
Cabinet Member. Further details of the indicative proposals are set
out in Appendix B:

 
• £10.5m from service redesign,
efficiencies, and demand management
• £4.9m from income generation.
 

To note that the proposals set out
in this report will be subject to consultation and an assessment of
the equality and other implications arising therefrom.
To note the significant uncertainty
around funding to be received in 2026/27 due to the Fair Funding
reforms, the outcome of which will be announced in the provisional
Local Government Financial settlement expected to be published in
mid-December 2025.
To note the proposed fees and
charges set out in the report and note that these will be subject
to approval by Full Council as part of the budget process.
