DECISION: The Cabinet agreed to:
 

     
I.        
Approve the Exempt Supported Accommodation Strategy to drive up
standards, meet local need and reduce temporary accommodation
costs.

    
II.        
Approve the Commissioning Framework that sets out
the standards that exempt supported accommodation providers will
need to meet to achieve “preferred provider
status”.

  
III.        
Delegate authority to the Director of Homelessness
and Supported Housing to approve the procurement of providers in
line with the Commissioning framework and budget.

 
IV.        
Approve investment of £648,000, over 12 months
in order to secure additional supply of exempt supported
accommodation lets. This investment will deliver up to £1.33m
pa cost savings to the council by preventing and relieving
homelessness and as an alternative to expensive temporary
accommodation. This will be funded from core budget.
