Decision
DECISION: The Cabinet agreed to:
I. Approve the Tenancy Strategy 2026-2031.
II. Approve the Tenancy Policy 2026-2031 which introduces a new provision for 10-year fixed-term tenancies at new let stage for residents allocated a three-bedroom home. The Director for Council Homes (Residents) will be delegated the scope to make exceptions where the needs of the family are enduring.
III. Delegate authority to the Executive Director for Housing and Regeneration in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Housing & Technology for any changes to the policy during this period.
