Purpose

The serious violence strategy sets out the 5 key priorities for preventing and reducing serious violence. Importantly the strategy ensures that the Council and names specified authorities meet the statutory Serious Violence Duty set out in the Police Crime Sentencing and Courts Act 2022.

Decision

DECISION: The Cabinet agreed to:

      I.         Note the endorsement of the Safer Stronger Communities Board made on the 30 April 2026 for the statutory partner organisations to adopt the Serious Violence Strategy 2026-35. (Appendix 2)

    II.         Note the endorsement of the proposed structure and content of the Serious Violence Strategy, by the Healthy and Safe Scrutiny Committee at their meeting of the 4 February 2026. (Appendix 3)

   III.         Approve and adopt the Enfield Safer Stronger Communities Board Serious Violence Strategy 2026-35, to comply with S8 of the Police Crime Sentencing and Courts Act 2022.
