Licensing Committee

The Licensing Committee is responsible for the Council's functions under the Licensing Act 2003 and other relevant legislation. It recommends the Licensing Policy Statement to the Council for approval. The committee also sets and varies conditions and fees for hackney carriage and private hire vehicle licences, driver licences, and operator licences. It approves hackney carriage fare increases, determines conditions and fees for street trading consents and licences, sex shop licences, and track betting licences. The committee also handles other licensing policy matters referred to it.
