About

The Audit and Governance Committee is responsible for overseeing the financial integrity and ethical conduct of Folkestone and Hythe District Council. It reviews financial statements, internal audit reports, and the effectiveness of risk management and corporate governance arrangements. The committee also promotes high standards of conduct among councillors and advises on the council's Code of Conduct, including handling complaints and granting dispensations for members with disclosable pecuniary interests.

This committee makes recommendations to the full Council on financial procedures and contract standing orders. It also plays a key role in ensuring the council's compliance with ethical governance protocols and the Localism Act 2011, affecting both district and parish councillors.
