Cabinet

The Cabinet is responsible for exercising the executive functions of Folkestone and Hythe District Council. This includes initiating, developing policy, and making decisions within the council's budget and policy framework, excluding functions that cannot legally be handled by the executive. The Cabinet, its committees, the Leader, individual cabinet members, and officers under delegated powers all contribute to these executive functions. The Leader determines the delegation of these powers and maintains a record of them. Individual portfolio holders provide political leadership, make decisions within their allocated areas, promote policies, and report on their activities to the executive and council.
