Pursuant to an Authorisation from the Cabinet
Member for Fire, Community Safety and Libraries on 8 October 2020:
Procurement of Refugee Support for the grant funded Home Office
Resettlement Scheme
Peter Bungard, Chief Executive, delegated authority to the Director
of Public Health to take the Delegated Decision in place of the
Chief Fire Officer to whom authority was originally delegated by
the Cabinet Member for Fire, Community Safety and Libraries on 8
October 2020.
It should be noted that since this Cabinet Member decision was made
the portfolio for Refugees and Asylum Seekers had moved from the
Cabinet Member for Fire, Community Safety and Libraries to the
Cabinet Member of Adult Social Care Delivery and then to the
Cabinet Member for Public Health. As a result, Cllr Fifield, the
then Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care Delivery and Cllr Mark
Hawthorne, Cabinet Member for Public Health have been consulted in
relation to the decision now being taken

DECISION
To exercise the final one-year extension option under the
council’s existing contract with GARAS for the provision of
support under the UK Resettlement Scheme (UKRS) to the 31 March
2026. This will ensure continuity of support is provided to
refugees resettling in Gloucestershire under the grant funded Home
Office UK Resettlement Scheme (UKRS).
