Purpose

To seek Lead
Cabinet Member approval to procure contracts for the supply of
highway construction works in relation to the B4008 Standish
Multi-User Path Scheme.
 
To seek Lead
Cabinet Member approval to delegate authority to the Assistant
Director of Asset Management and Property Services (AMPS) to
dedicate a strip of GCC farmland identified for highways use
in order to facilitate the delivery of
the Scheme.
 

Decision

In coming to this decision I have given due
and full regard to the requirements of the public sector equality
duty contained in section 149 of the Equality Act 2010 (“the
Act”) by reference to the law itself and also the relevant
Equality Impact Assessment, which was prepared in accordance with
the requirements of the Act.  
 
Having fully considered all the available
information, I have decided to reject the alternative options and
take the recommended decision to: 
 
Delegate authority to the Assistant Director
for Highways and Infrastructure (in consultation with the Cabinet
Member for Environment and Planning) to: 
 

Conduct, subject to the financial
restrictions set out in the Resource Implications section of this
report below, competitive procurement processes in respect of
securing contracts for the supply of highway works in relation to
the B4008 Standish Multi User-Path Scheme (the
“Scheme”); and  

 

Award such contracts to the
preferred tenderer(s).
