Purpose

 
Pursuant to an Authorisation
from the Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Finance and Change on
23 March 2023: Insurance Contracts Procurement.
 
Following a competitive procurement process
under the Crown Commercial Services (RM6138 Insurance Services 3
DPS) Framework in respect of the contracts below for the supply of
insurance cover for the Council and having consulted with the
Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Finance and Change in
accordance with the Cabinet Member decision on 23 March 2023:
 
DECISION
To award contracts for the provision of the
following types of insurance cover:
i.
Property Insurance – award to Zurich
Municipal for £535,047.37 p.a.;
ii.
Liability Insurance – award to Zurich
Municipal for £283,653.44 p.a.;
iii.
Motor Insurance – award to Zurich
Municipal for £219,514.40 p.a.;
iv.
Engineering Inspection/Insurance – award
to Allianz for £91,264.85;
v.
Computer Insurance – award to Allianz
for £TBA.; No compliant bid received via framework. Quote
being obtained from existing provider which will be no more than
£25,682.38 p.a. Cover will be in place when existing cover
expires;
vi.
Marine Insurance – award to Navigators
& General Insurance Company for £3,963.40 p.a.;
vii.
School Legal Expenses – award to Markel
for £97,598.20 p.a.;
viii.
School Travel Insurance – award to Maven
for £32,035.43 p.a.(please note
this was combined with x below)
ix.
Fidelity Guarantee Insurance – award to
Maven for £47,060.16 p.a.;
x.
Travel and Personal Insurance – award to
Maven for £32,035.43 p.a. (please note this was combined with
viii above); and
The proposed contracts shall continue for an
initial three year period and include an
option to extend their terms for a further period of not more than
two years (i.e. three plus two years). The contracts will commence
on 23rd June 2024.

DECISION
To award contracts for the provision of the

Municipal for £219,514.40 p.a.;

to Allianz for £91,264.85;
v.
Computer Insurance – award to Allianz
for £TBA.; No compliant bid received via framework. Quote
being obtained from existing provider which will be no more than
£25,682.38 p.a. Cover will be in place when existing cover
