Purpose

The National Government’s childcare
reforms programme was launched in March 2023 and this report
enables funding to be allocated to those whose bids have been
assessed by the council as successfully meeting the criteria for
the capital grant and wraparound childcare delivery grant funding.
The awarding of these grants is to ensure the council meets its
duties in the delivery of the Government Childcare Reforms by
ensuring there is sufficient Early Years and Out of School
childcare provision across the county to meet demand.
Following the Grant Panel on 24 and 26 February 2025, the panel
agreed the applications listed below that meet the criteria for the
grant monies.

Decision

Having consulted with Cllr Phil Robinson,
Cabinet Member for Education and Bus Transport, now the Lead Member
for Early Years, in accordance with the Cabinet decision on 12 June
2024;
 
To award the following Subsidy Control Regime
exempt grant funding on the basis set out in Appendix 1 and
Appendix 2 to this report using the grant award process agreed by
Cabinet on 12 June 2024:
 
a)   
Childcare Reforms Local Authority Capital funding: and
 
b)   
Wraparound Childcare Delivery grant to expand existing and/or
develop new early years and out of school provision
(wraparound)
