Purpose

Pursuant to an Authorisation from the Cabinet
Member for Adult Social Care Delivery on 15th December 2023

Following the decision to commission a short-term
accommodation-based support service for refugees granted leave to
remain:

To seek approval to exercise the second option to extend the term
of the Council’s Wheatridge Court contract with Caring for
Communities and People (CCP) for a final 6-month period, 1st July
2025 to 31st December 2025.

To continue to provide placements for the cohort of former
unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC) Care Leavers,
currently accommodated by Gloucestershire County Council in
high-cost Children’s placements.

To vary the value of the contract to reflect the unforeseen void
loss at Wheatridge Court following Government changes to the
extended notice period given to refugees to exit their dispersed
accommodation.
