Having considered all of the information,
Cabinet noted the report and
RESOLVED to:
1.
Approve the spend of up to £1,000,000
allocated to the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Service from the Improvement/Investment fund
(available from the ASC Transformation and Investment budget) to
manage the backlog of DoLS applications
and fund the proposed DoLS assessment
contract described in Recommendation 2 below;
2.
Delegate authority to the Executive Director of
Adult Social Care, Wellbeing and Communities, in consultation with
the Cabinet Member for Adults’ Support and Independence
to:

conduct a competitive procurement process in respect
of a contract for the supply of Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
assessments. The proposed contract shall continue for an initial
period of 1 year and include an option to extend its term for a
further period of not more than 1 year.

Award the above contract to the preferred tenderer;
and
·
Determine whether to exercise the above option to
extend the term of contract for a further period of not more than 1
year on the expiry of the initial 1-year term.
