Purpose
To obtain approval for the Council’s
draft revenue, capital and the Dedicated Schools Grant budgets for
2026/27 - 2029/30, to be the basis for scrutiny and consultation
with residents, staff, businesses, partners, trade unions and
schools in line with the Council’s Budget and Policy
Framework Procedure Rules.
Decision
Cllr Colin Hay sought Cabinet approval
for the Council’s draft revenue and capital
budget and the Dedicated Schools Grant budget for 2026/27 - 2029/30
to be the basis for scrutiny and consultation with residents,
staff, businesses, partners, trade unions and schools in line with
the Council’s Budget and Policy Framework Procedure
Rules.
Having considered all of the
information, Cabinet noted the report and
RESOLVED
to:
1.
Approve for consultation and scrutiny the draft
Budget document for consultation – including the detailed
revenue, capital and Dedicated School Grant budgets for 2026/27
– 2029/30 (Appendix 1).
2.
Approve for consultation and scrutiny the
Consultation Questionnaire (Appendix 2).
3.
Agree that a public consultation be undertaken on
the Council’s draft budget 2026/27 for a 5-week period
between 4th
December 2025 and 9th January 2026.
