Purpose

To seek delegated authority to procure highways services and construction phase works, through the existing construction contract in place with Montel Civil Engineering, in relation to Forest Road, Lydney Geotechnical Stabilisation Scheme and additional required works at Sites 1a and 2 (as per location plan at the end of this report)

Decision

In coming to this decision I have given due and full regard to the requirements of the public sector equality duty contained in section 149 of the Equality Act 2010 (“the Act”) by reference to the law itself and also the relevant Equality Impact Assessment, which was prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Act.

Having fully considered all the available information, I have decided to reject the alternative options and take the recommended decision to:

Commission additional construction works at B4234 Forest Road, Lydney Sites 1a and 2 through the existing construction contract in place with Montel Civil Engineering for the B4234 Forest Road Geotechnical Stabilisation Scheme.

For the reasons set out in the report.
