To seek Cabinet approval to adopt the proposed Green Skills* Strategy 2026-2030

2. Nature-Based Skills: The environmental and land management expertise required to sequester carbon, enhance biodiversity, and ensure climate adaptation and nature recovery in a rural county.

Having considered all of the information, Cabinet noted the report and

RESOLVED to:

  1. Approve the adoption of the Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) Green Skills Strategy 2026-2030 set out in the Appendix to this report.

  2. Delegate authority to the Executive Director of Environment, Economy and Infrastructure, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Education and Skills to implement the above Green Skills Strategy 2026-2030.

  3. Delegate authority to the Executive Director of Environment, Economy and Infrastructure, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Education and Skills to participate in the Federated Faculty in a coordination and facilitation role.
